Good location at the side of the river, looking out towards Kapiti Island and the sea.
Amazing singing toilets! Stay in there long enough to hear two tracks. And a loo that thanks you for using it! Good beach access. Hard standing. Free site.

Absolutely mad!
Grownups with spades reliving childhoods spend digging holes in the sand! And oh boy was it hot in places, too hot to stand. An amazing NZ experience.

Arrived as they opened at 8.30am so the park was deserted.
Lovely to walk around. Lady Knox Geyser was a disappointment - like a damp squid! Expected it to go much higher.

Couldn't find it!
Followed signs which led us to Pillars of Hercules; saw a camping area and stopped there, not a lot of room, not surprising if others could find the correct site. Difficult to easy - steep and narrow around forest tracks. Free site.

A wow experience!
I had never seen a sperm whale before. Saw three at close range and two from a distance. Customer service was excellent.

We arrived 20 minutes before closing time and nothing was too much trouble. Recommended the best campsite to match our preferred walk.

$20 for the night. Left our motorhome on the campsite when we did our walk.

Water taxi to start. Stunning views. Water taxi back to Picton - had to wait over an hour!! However, the walk was good.
