Great site, perfect for fishing.
Be warned though, they do enforce the self-contained motorhomes only rule! So if you do not have a toilet in your vehicle, you won't be able to stay.

If you go just beyond the Wai-O-Tapu entrance there is a hot stream meeting a cold one under a bridge, you cannot miss it.
It is a great place for a little dip.

The tour and informative given was incredibly in depth and insightful.
You could really tell that the woman of this thermal town had been sharing their lifestyle and knowledge for generations. A real must see.

A beautiful, little, magical spot with a little stream and drinking water supply.

This was really helpful when we were first getting set up in Wellington.
Free WIFI and friendly staff who were able to give me a run down of all the various areas of Wellington. Plus it is right by the central library!

I will try to stop my romanticism of this place get the better of this review.
The tour was great fun, getting to stop for a drink in the Green Dragon was a real treat. The only downside was the price. At $75 it was truly 'once in a lifetime'.

It is quite a long drive from Wellington but it is through amazing mountains.
Once you are there you can climb very tall staircase to a lighthouse and also hang out with some seals! Great snorkelling too!

A shining piece of kiwi history!
Completely non-commercial, it is just an ancient tree in the middle of a forest, the way it should be. If you are in New Zealand, make sure you go.
