We had a fairly unhappy experience with this company.

When we turned up we felt that the conditions were too poor for kayakers of our experience (we have some experience but some of our companions appeared to have very little). The owner refused to allow us to cancel and give us our money back. He claimed the conditions were flat calm and that he could not afford to give us our money back. When we reached our starting point on the Sea Taxi the surf was running at a metre plus and was way beyond our capability especially in open sea. We simply had to return on the Sea Taxi. We had a thoroughly miserable experience and were most disappointed.

I would avoid booking with this company unless you are sure that the conditions will be very settled.

By contrast we had a great time on Marlborogh Sounds where their emphasis on customer comfort and safety restored our confidence in NZ kayak operators.
