This is a lovely green site, just a short walk though the bushes to the beach.
Incredible scenery with mountains and beautiful beaches. Facilities a little rustic but the showers were hot and free. Food at the pub OK but not very imaginative. A short drive to Pancake rocks well worth seeing one hour either side of high tide.
Hi David, glad you enjoyed not paying extra for showers! We believe it should all be part of the package!!

This site was a little difficult to find but a quick call to the owner sorted it.
What can we say? the site must be our favourite from the the month we spent in NZ. No trimmings just a field next to the beach, (with sheep) but what a beach! miles of empty sand in a beautiful bay, totally unspoilt and empty. We stayed just after Cyclone Lusi but although it was rough on the ocean our bay was calm and warm. Must be self contained, recommend the spring water in the tank, what a steal at five bucks a night!

Good facilities although the sites were a little close together.
Helpful reception and a discount from Glacier Helicopters.

Found this via the rankers site.
Very cheap and cheerful. Set in lovely vineyard country a bit off the beaten track. The facilities were very tied and outdated. Beware of the irrigation system which starts about 4.30 am and sounds like a helicopter hovering, but it doesn't go away!
Hi David
I can assure you it is not our irrigation system, as we are surrounded by vineyards unfortunately their frost fans are noisy and do sound exactly like the army helicopters coming in for manoeuvers, however, when they come on is out of our control, and is also something we also have to endure on frosty nights.

Good site outside the town.
The main attraction was the hot tubs which were lovely to relax in. Excellent facilities - great showers in warm shower blocks ie not open to the elements like some are! Good kitchens and public rooms (although we didn't use them) Very helpful staff.
Hi David,
Thanks for your great review, we really appreciate it!

We received a great welcome to this lovely site.
Good facilities with plenty of space. An easy stroll into town for the vibrant farmers market the next morning made this a very pleasant stay.
Thank you for your review David, we are glad your stay was a pleasant one. Our close proximity to our boutique town is a huge positive for us, and we are glad you enjoyed the farmers market while you were here. We hope you choose to stay with us again in the future.

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were doing the doubtful sound trip.
The site is very tidy with excellent facilities each pitch separated by a hedge. Our stay was a bit spoilt by a not very welcoming person (unusual for NZ) and although there were self contained shower, toilet and W.C. only 2 of the 5 shower rooms were open. If you just wanted a shave you had to wait. Excellent but badly planned facilities not very well administered.

Our first experience of camper-vanning!
A nice welcome to this small site set in pretty gardens. It was quite full but then it is a city with an easy to drive into the centre and from the Kea depot. Good facilities - plenty of hot showers.
