Awesome track, easy to moderate.
A fair bit of uneven terrain, but worth every minute you walk it. Best walk we have done thus far in NZ. Small toilet block half way to glacier, 3 swing bridges. Track was in the midst of being maintained whilst we were there (end march 2014) . Well worth the 3-4 hours. Give yourself 4hours just because of the wonderful scenery and picture opportunities.

Great freedom camping spot, lots of room, toilet is disgusting, needs replacing (drop toilet).
Next to the creek. Very pretty area, just off the main road, go over the first rise you will see the camping area, good for camper vans etc.

Awesome place, lots of room for both tents and self contained campers, could fit 200 easily.
Toilets very clean. Could kick a footy around there is that much room! Beautiful lake to swim, fish or do boating. Very pretty spot. Recommend.

Beautiful spot, but unless you have good height under your van, don't go here.
Very difficult to access, don't recommend for large campers or camper vans. 4WD would access this easy. McHenry road is a single lane road with little or no room to move for two cars to drive down.
Rating 2/10 for access.
9/10 for prettiness.

Very clean, kitchen set up great; also very clean, heaps of room for many types of travellers/ campers.
No shower facilities. Worth $10 pp/pn. You better pay, or the DOC will get you early in the morning. Quite strict here for everyone who stays the night to pay up. But well worth it. Dump station (grey water and poop drop) and fresh water available.
