Get a pitch for your motorhome with a sea view.
We did and were rewarded with our best motor-homing stay in north and south islands: loads of room between vans, wonderful to hear the breaking waves on stunning beach and to see the sun glistening on the water. Friendly staff and fellow campers - but the latter all go to bed at 9pm. Peaceful bliss! The only complaint: management must enforce their admirable 'no dogs' policy.

Once again profit for Top 10 comes before service.
The owners know they have a captive audience so have rammed in a ridiculous number of cabins, tents etc as well as squeezing in us motor-homers in large numbers on narrow sites in a highly unattractive situation off a busy main road. Insufficient parking for cars. If I have to hear the noisy whoosh of another sliding door on a creaky old Wicked campervan just as I am on the edge of sleep again I'll scream ... there is no escape from the madding crowds in this seething hell-hole. There are no places to eat or buy food close by (bring your own).Goodbye, Auckland - I leave with nightmare memories.

Welcoming staff and pretty large pitch for our motorhome (far more spacious than say, Top 10s in Dunedin,Te Anau and Queenstown).
Pleasant site with good facilities, within fairly easy walking distance of town - and, obviously, handy for ferry to N Island. We enjoyed our time here.

Nice, spacious site and pretty good facilities.
Good stop-over on way to Abel Tasman.

Quirky but friendly site with much more room and chance for privacy than the Dunedin Aaron Lodge Top Ten.
We enjoyed our stay and loved the perfect sandy St Kilda beach, only a short walk away. Convenient bus service to Dunedin centre meant we could leave our motorhome on our site. Also, well situated for visits to Otago Peninsular.
Thank you Ted for taking the time to share your experience. We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Hope to have you with us again in the future.

Heart sank somewhat as I drove into another not immediately appealing Top 10 site.
However, the pitch for our motorhome was larger than at some others, staff helpful, and facilities satisfactory. We enjoyed our two nights, including walk to town centre and then round the peninsular.
Glad to hear that we won you over, thanks for your feedback on the entrance - we have had landscapers in to see what we can do to improve this. Wonderful to hear you enjoyed your 2 night stay. Thank you for your feedback.

Dated and worn site but - for once, given this is a Top 10 site - plenty of room.
Satisfactory for an overnight stop.

Our least satisfactory experience of a Top Ten site in NZ during our 3+ week campervan holiday.
Very, very cramped and crowded. Difficult to park. No privacy. No outlook. No where attractive to walk. Remote from city centre. We left after one night for alternative more spacious and attractive site near St Kilda beach.

Yet another example of Top 10 squeezing campervans into a smallish site like sardines - and charging a lot of money for what you get!
Quirky facilities - you look at a mural of the Queenstown can-can girls as you come out of your shower! However, friendly, helpful staff and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Close to gondola and within fairly easy walking distance of lively town centre, good eating places and walks by lake.

At last, a spacious Top 10 site - we got a great pitch for our motorhome under trees, with a view across the park to the stream, ducks etc.
Musac from kitchen (as at Te Anau and other places) an unwanted intrusion - but it gets turned off fairly early. What looks like a permanent encampment of weird and wonderful mobile homes, old caravans etc in one section of site is strange and a bit of an eyesore but you get used to it. Staff helpful. We recommend OdysseyNZ for your wineries tour. Choose a pitch away from noisy road beyond the big hedge. Good facilities. We enjoyed our stay - but wished the site was in the more attractive Napier.

Served our purpose - visiting friends living here - very well.
The loos and showers not very enticing and could do with major makeover. But spacious parkland site and peace and quiet. Fine for an overnight stop in a motorhome.

Very well placed for water taxis and walking some of the Abel Tasman track.
Nice bistro/pub overlooking bay close by. Our site for motorhome quite spacious if threadbare. Need for more plug-in points so campervans don't park at funny angles, invading your space, to get plugged in. Showers, toilets, dump station etc. very much in need of modernisation. Despite its obvious faults, we enjoyed our stay here very much.

Pleasant site but limited space for each campervan - so much room is now devoted to cabins, chalets etc.
( a general comment on Top 10 sites, which seem far less value for money than when we were in NZ 7 years ago!). Pleasant, helpful staff were very willing for us to move to better, more private site for second and third nights of our stay. Easy walk by lake to town. Efficient arrangements for Milford Sound coach trips - so all in all a good experience.
