Nice camping spot right behind the sand dunes.
It is situated on a nice beach with beautiful views. A little expensive at $22 couple/night. However the toilets/showers (cold only) were clean. I liked how the sites were nicely spaced apart from your neighbours.

Friendly manager, who was very helpful.
We arrived after a long day & quite tired. He advised there was a festival on until 10pm & directed us to the other end of the property where it would be quieter. As it turned out, the festival was no problem at all. A few fireworks, a little Bob Marley music....it was all good. The toilets/shower though were long over due for a good clean. It cost us $20 couple/night.

Very friendly on-site manager (Allan) who gave us some good travel info for NZ.
The site itself was $5 for a self contained vehicle & I thought was good value. It's a nice quiet little overnight stop. There are shower/toilet facilities at additional cost should you require them.

Awesome camp right at the ocean.
Quite exposed though we had no issues. There were 3 other motorcampers there for the night & we felt quite safe. The grass though was quite rough & contained lots of prickles & cow patties. Tenters may not be too impressed with that situation.

Nice overnight camp site on hard stand right by the lake.
The showers & toilets are locked at 7pm & re-opened again at 7am next morning, so if these facilities are required keep that in mind. The shower does not have a door & shower tap is missing, so couldn't use anyway. Otherwise a good free camp. We bought our evening meal supplies at local supermarket. I feel it's good to give back to local communities who offer free camps.
