We stayed here for 2 nights in a motorhome right by the lake.
The sound of ducks and birds all day was devine. Facilities, though a little old are good and very usable.. Nice hot showers, toilets and laundry facilities. There is also a free Bbq and camp kitchen stocked with plates, cutlery, a toaster, pie warmer, fridge, freezer, microwave and sinks for washing dishes. Great place to stay just out of the main drag of rotorua and close to activities such as Skyline Rotorua, luge, QuadZone etc.
Will definitely stay here again!

Cost was $39 for 2 people and the facilities were reasonably clean and good.
Short walk to the beach. Only downside was having to pay for showers. There is a jumping pillow and lay ground for the kids and it is a reasonable place to stay though quite out of the way. We wouldn't stay here again only due to the location wnd it being very busy. Better for families

My favourite stay so far on our trip!
There is a hot mineral pool to soak in which is just amazing and relaxing (there are also kid free times for the adults!). Full amenities including great hot showers and toilets, disabled toilet/shower avail and hairdryer. Though there are quite a few people here and we wre very close to the pool and ablutions it is extremely quiet we can only here the birds and the breeze. The staff here have been very accommodating and I'm cannot speak highly of them enough, we've had a few medical issues on our trip and difficulties with travel insurance and on asking for a late checkout she refused to take any more money from us as she said we had been through enough! Great to know there are still kind hearted business owners out there.
Another plus is it's only 1hour to Auckland airport, and as it offers black and grey water dumping facilities, it means it's s great stopover on your way to the airport!
Trampoline and tennis courts also available and bike/trike hire. Small shop at reception.
Can't wait to return!! Thank you so much

We stayed here after being stuck til late at the late night clinic in Hamilton.
Was a decent spot to stay, there are public toilets but they are locked at night so only self contained campervans can stay here. Lovely reserve, right by the river... Big downside was train line right nearby.. Extremely loud as freight trains passed through latest night and early hours of the morning. Wouldn't stay here again, but was a good place as an emergency/last minute stopover if you haven't booked anything and are in the area.

Loved this place!
Just out of Thames, nestled into the mountain. Beautiful surrounds, lush green grass, birds singing. We stayed here for one night in our campervan. The owner was brilliant, good sense of humour and as I was injured on crutches made sure we had a spot not too far from the bathroom and came to check on us as well if needed. There is a little shop at reception with basic stuff (ice cream, drinks, noodles, crackers) and the butterfly orchid garden too which we didn't have time to visit. Facilities are good with a camp kitchen, bbqs, a pool and tennis courts. Toilet and shower block are a little dated but have everything you need including a large sink for baby baths. We would definitely stay here again, only downsides were the bbqs were very old and slow and the water pressure in the shower was but a mere trickle which was unfortunate. No or very limited cell phone reception. There is meant to be free wifi but is currently broken, however there is a computer outside reception that is free to use.
