I would give 12 points if I could!
very very very nice hosts, great sites with trees and bushes around, even greater views at lake and mountains, clean facilities at all time, quiet place when we were there (before weekend). we only intended to stay 1 night but instead extended to 2 nights - we rented two mountainbikes (& helmets) at the campsite and made a trip to Wanaka. you may ride the normal bike paths but there are also several tracks for mountain bikes.

End of march 2015 still nzd 30,- for two for a powered site :).
Small space for campervans (4-5 sites), but right at the ocean's site. Lots of cabins. Great view with a little smell of (fresh) fish. No luxury, facilities could have a renovation but could be worse. Great host. Lots of fishermen there, perfect for surf fishing, I guess.

top! just you, some cattles, tasman sea, the lighthouse and mt.
taranaki. no facilities, only for fully self-contained, please respect. we were all alone and stood right beside the ocean. a little windy but that's what you expect at the ocean, don't you?

not much place between the campervans, some noise from state highway no.
big park, lots of sites directly at the beach (you may also do beach tenting!), children's playground (with a little ropeway), clean facilities with music in the background;
1 which is some 100 m away - but if it is stormy you will hear the waves instead :)

we were welcomed by a nice host and a curious Weka-crew at this lovely place "in the mountains": beautiful layout with old-fashioned lanterns, useful wodden tables&benches at lots of the sites, much space
between the sites, fresh clean water at each site. the facilities are clean and have some pretty wallpaintings. you may see some glowworms at the campground's flank and some more in a 20-min-walk-distance.
only two irritating items for us:
- a list of loooots dos and don'ts... there will be a reason for this but it gave us a little feeling of being in a german authority
- definitely winner in the category "thinnest toilet paper" ;)
nevertheless a really fine place with great attention on environment and conservation.
