Decent size hard standing pitches, lovely staff and super modern facilities.
If only all holiday parks could be like this! Only a 5 minute walk into the village too. Showers are $1 for a good 8 minutes. My one wish is that they could have turned the heating on in the bathrooms. It was pretty cold when I was there!

Nice small-ish campsite.
I stayed here on a power site. Perfect. 5 min walk from centre, good hot powerful showers (free), and friendly, welcoming staff. Wifi available, vouchers at reception. Would happily stay again.

Small and friendly!
Good facilities and a short walk into the village itself. Its well located for popular spots like Larnach castle, the albatross centre and penguin viewing. I felt the hot water in the showers could have been hotter. I like my showers scorching!

Centrally located with a 5 minute walk to the main street.
Staff were very friendly and helped with bookings. Facilities were great with a lovely big dining area and comfy cosy lounge with open fire. I would happily stay here again.

Not very impressed.
Yes the location is unbeatable but for heavens sake join the 21st century and install some proper facilities! After one look, I didn't even use the showers. $2 is too much, try $1. The sites are well sheltered and private.

The owner was pleasant and helpful and the setting is next to bush on one side with a super walk to Colonial Knob.
On the other side is an industrial estate! My issue was with the ladies toilets/showers. Really dirty with green mould/slime on the shower walls and grease from peoples' hands all over the toilet doors even after they'd been 'cleaned'. I work in housekeeping and its not difficult to do a quick proper clean. Also, 2 toilets and showers and only one sink were not enough for the number of people using them when I was there. Also be aware that its not an ideal location for a single female to walk back from the centre in the evening/at night. I didn't feel very safe doing this. Porirua is handy to visit Wellington, only 20 mins by train, with trains every half hr.
Thank you for your comments. We have taken these on board and have addressed cleaning issues with our staff. We are also working towards renovating parts of the toilet/shower facility you have referred to.
