We found Wilderness to be excellent.
Even when booking from the UK, the communications were generally really good. There was always a prompt response to emails and nothing appeared too difficult for them. The staff were equally friendly when we arrived at Christchurch and the base facility was great. The van was superb as was the advice we received before setting off. We'd definitely use Wilderness again and would thoroughly recommend them to others. Really great.

Kayaking in doubtful sound is stunning.
We went in October and the fresh snow made for a chilly but picturesque experience. The equipment was generally good and our guide Brad put in a lot of effort to ensure that we had the best trip possible. It's not cheap, but it's a very memorable thing to do and see in the fiords at water-level (as opposed to a bigger cruise boat) is even more special. There is a bit of confusion about the company- they are actually owned by Real Experiences, but continue to operate independently. Definitely recommended.

beautiful location, free, toilet shut when we visited.
Good location and site to explore the lovely Banks peninsula. Definitely worth visiting and good last place to stay prior to going to the airport :-(

We visited in Oct and yes the track is exciting but adds to the wilderness! Great for mountain biking/fishing!!

Brilliant campsite, really good facilities.
Non-powered site is much nicer than powered area. Had the riverside view to ourselves! Watch out for the sandflies!!!
