Fantastic site.
Found it by accident almost. Anyway this is an extremely low cost site $5pp. But has hot showers, power if required, and even meals and breakfast for around the $10-13 range. (Compare this with the low cost DOC sites in the same price range.)
Kev is a really funny guy and will do anything to help.
Has all manner of farm animals including pet sheep.
We had a great time, flat grassy (or gravel) sites. Definitely views of the hills (as in the name) Would loved to have stayed longer.
BTW the vindaloo pizza is a must have, fan'bloody'tastic.
Hi Ken and family thanks for the great feed back but you did forget to mention how good looking I was any way don't worry (ha ha),,,,It was great to meet you and the family lets hope our paths cross again all the best to you and the girls.

Took the "Cream Cruise" absolutely fantastic.
The daughters got to swim with the dolphins, and fool around in the cargo net while the boat was moving. Went through the hole in the rock. This is an experience not to be missed. This huge vessel through that little hole, ( I never thought the skipper would attempt it, as it looked a little rough. I didn't think the boat would even fit. ) even stopped in the middle, with only meters clearance on all sides including the top, with waves splashing all around. It was fan'bloody'tastic.
Stopped off on an island to climb the lookout. Bring your own lunch.
A top experience, highly recommend it.

A nice spot, we were lucky and had the place to ourselves.
They also give a 50% discount to Jucy vans. So it only cost $13 for two in our jucy van for a powered site.
Hello Ken
We're really glad you liked our campground and the Jucy 2 for 1 offer, we have just renewed it for 2014 and we offer this on unpowered sites for Jucy campers too!

We found this excellent.
Had wind, freezing rain, hail, sun, a true glacial experience. Everything was supplied for this, socks, boots, waterproof tops and bottoms crampons etc. Spend about an hour on the ice, looking at, and climbing over, crevasses etc. Good info from the guide. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Brilliant.
Did the labyrinth which involves floating through a pitch black cave on an inner tube. We were given full wet suits including footwear, and crash hats with lights. Needed it too, the water was freezing. Masses of glow worms on the ceilings which looked like stars when we turned off our lights. Some sections we linked together and floated through in the dark. most sections we did unlinked. some in the dark and some with our headlights on. Had to jump backwards over 2 waterfalls (one for practise). Also did some walking through the caves. But a brilliant experience, a highlight of our trip and I'm 66.
