+Great location, right on beach front +Lovely views +Choose a spot tucked in between tall grasses or overlooking the sea +Toilet cleaned daily, although it was a long drop +Not that many bugs +Fairly easy
to find, down a short gravel road
:) Would stay there again

+Fantastic location, peaceful and scenic +Flush toilets open all night +Worth the drive to get to -Some areas slope so get there early to choose your spot -Choose route back to main road carefully as
one is a double ford and wasn't passable in Oct
:) would stay again

-The unpowered sites are close together, in the car park, They don't seem as spaced out as they should legally be when compared to the space given by other campsites, but I maybe mistaken.
+Great communal areas, especially kitchen and lounge
+Free dry room
+Good location
+Clean
-Way too expensive
-Unfriendly staff
:/ You have to stay here is you want to campervan in Milford Sounds as there is no other option

+Lovely view, right by the sea front +Quiet +Collected nice Paua shells -flush toilets were disgusting -Didn't like the feel of the place, not sure why :( Wouldn't stay there again, wished we had done
two nights as Monkey Island instead

+Could leave the van when we went for a walk and use the kitchen before we left about 4pm, but it was the quiet season, not sure if that would be possible in the summer.
+Clean
+Friendly warden
+Free washing machine
+Good facilities
+Easy disabled access
+Plenty of space
+Good locations to do lots of walks from
+You can just pay to use the kitchen or showers if you don't want to stay the night
-Would have loved to have stayed an extra night, but money is tight and whilst the campsite is not too expensive compared to other sites we felt it was too expensive for us to stop an extra night.
It's an honesty box system, although the warden clocks how many vans stay and who they are so make sure you pay up and keep this fantastic site open!
:) Would stay there again
South Island ▷ Canterbury ▷ Christchurch ▷
4.5/5
+Extremely clean +Friendly and helpful staff +Near supermarkets +Next to bus stop, although you can drive and park for free near the Cardboard Cathedral when we were there in Oct +Free BBQ +Free DVDs
to borrow
+Good large sink to hand wash clothes with plenty of line space
- Wifi is not free, which is a shame considering the price you pay to stay there
:) would stay again

Great freedom camping!
+Beautiful location
+Public toilet open all night
+Dump station (no drinking water)
+Sealed road all the way
Get here early to get a spot as you are on strips of grass between the road and the lake as it gets busy.
:) would definitely stay again
South Island ▷ Fiordland ▷ Te Anau ▷
2.5/5
-Mozzie and sandfly haven, it was terrible, be warned!
+Not as expensive as camp sites in Te Anau
+Lots of spots to choose from, some with views of the lakes, others of trees, others of mountains
+Gravel and grass spaces
+Lots of long drop toilets scattered around
-Drop toilets weren't that great
:( Wouldn't stay there again
