The walk to the summit has variety in both terrain and views which is helped higher up by providing a forked loop to reach the top.
The western option was a little slippery in spots due to the immediate gradient and running water at the time but the overall walk was certainly enjoyable and the 360 degree views at the top worth any effort required.

Rent a Dent

Having read extremely mixed reviews about Rent a Dent I was very wary of using their service but in Palmerston Nth, where we were arriving by train, there were limited hire car options.
The people at this branch turned out to be very helpful, arriving at the station with the car and meeting us at the station when we left.
The car, while not new, was a top-line model, extremely clean and it performed well.
I wonder whether being a franchise company causes people's experiences to vary from place to place, but we were happy with this one.
