Absolutely fabulous place to stay.
We booked one night on arrival but ended up staying for three. The sites are quite secluded which makes it feel quite private. Facility block was a little older than some bit still clean and serviceable. Very handy to great walks and mountain biking and far enough out of Wanaka to feel less touristy. Would recommend.

Basic campground just off main road.
Really easy to find a private spot in the trees which felt like we were the only ones there. Very basic long drop toilet - no water tap as far as we could see. Fine for self contained vehicles.

Arrived in pouring rain to friendly welcome and grassy park up area surrounded by trees.
Only a few tents across from our caravan so was reasonably quiet (it bucket end down anyway so not a night for sitting out!) looks like the campground backs onto Naseby Forest which has lots of MTB and walking trails, unfortunately we couldn't get out because of the rain. Can't comment on facilities as we didn't use them but everything else was good.

Really good position close to the village, hot pools and walks as well as the lake, of course.
Facilities have been upgraded and were spotless, be prepared for unisex bathroom and shower block though which could put some people off although it was absolutely no problem! BBQs are provided and look in excellent condition. This is a very busy holiday park with no privacy from your neighbours though - felt a bit like being squashed in like sardines! Reception staff were reasonably helpful and polite. Would stay here again but would look for a quieter time of the year.

Arrived her late afternoon in a howling gale.
There is masses of room and we didn't have too much trouble finding a spot for the caravan although shelter from the wind was at a bit of a premium. We didn't use the facilities as we are self contained but know they are pretty basic toilets only. The only slightly fasting thing was the weird booming noise all night from the water spilling over the dam - found it a bit off putting but I'm sure others wouldn't even have noticed it (tended to be reminiscent of quakes to be honest!).
On leaving in the morning we discovered from the DOC Ranger that some ratbags had taken the secured payment box overnight - can't believe we have such lowlifes running around the place!!

Just back from a long weekend at this holiday park.
Would have ranked this as a 10 due to pristine clean shared facilities and friendly service. However, our stay was a little marred by the fact that the large group of campers next to our site had dogs that kept wandering round our site defecating everywhere. Really unpleasant! We will be checking in future and only staying at campsites that ensure dogs are kept on leads and owners are expected to pick up after them. We don't have kids but I definitely wouldn't want to stay here with lit tiles if there were people with dogs around. This really is the only negative I have though - it would have been perfect otherwise.
