We love AKL Zoo and spend many hours with our kids watching “our” friends.
However would love a better equipped playground and the kids zone could have more projects tailored to young kids. Would like to see more published animal feeding times i.e. we stumbled across the hippos when they were given a cabbage – what a delight – however never seen it again also the little man would love to have this experience again. The last minute announcements over the intercom are nearly impossible to understand. Overall the zoo is great however could be bigger.

Simply the best place to stay with kids.
I have not found a better park in NZ! The park facilities are fantastic, well maintained and super clean. The pool was the best feature for my 3-year old – we spend hours in the pool and on the water slide (... and Mum sneaked back later at night when the kids were in bed for a soak in the hot spa!) And not to forget to mention the jumping pillow, especially the moment it deflates and all the kids meet for a last jump to call it a day. The beach, just at your fingertips is one of the most fantastic beaches in NZ. We searched for pipies and scallops and built many sand castles. One of the best family holidays we ever had and we will be back! Oh and did I mention feeding the eels in the stream??? My lil man did not stop talking about all the adventures he had at Waihi – there is so much to do in the holiday park and around Waihi. A must do for young and old.

One of the best campground in NZ!
We just loved the park and especially the sea views. Russell 10 is just the perfect place to unwind. Facilities are excellent and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurants and bars are at your fingertips, or just like us, enjoy stay at the campsite and enjoy with view with a BBQ. We could not have chosen a better place to stay and we will be back! Many thanks to the Top 10 Team for looking after us.
