Cheap. Breakfast and dinner available. Campground owners took personal interest in every visitor.

Awesome scenery.
Great weather. Was annoying to check in the DOC Information Centre to get tickets, was not enough to print it out. Hut warden explained that procedure was necessary to get information about track weather. Yet I had been told nothing about track/weather, nor that gas stoves are on site. I carried all the stuff.

Some hut wardens spent lots of time with people, give information and take ownership for their huts.
Other hut wardens only show up to collect tickets and the hut was a mess.
