A well run commercial holiday park.
We needed the wind breaks provided as it as blustery and winds reached 130kph. the views were stunning and the beach walks serene. Too windy the first night to make it up to the lighthouse, but made it on the second night. The couple running the site are very friendly and helpful. Water is provided at every lot, very handy. Have fun!

A nice riverside location, with a large swimming pool and several hot springs.
Small kitchen & lounge. Good laundry and great BBQ. Looking a bit tired.

This is a great site, right on the top of the hill.
Great views of the forgotten highway and the volcanos in the distance. We stayed over night on a powered site. The shower at the main house is excellent. Definitely a nice homey place, the couple who run the place are lovely and very helpful. The 10 o'clock site vacating was fairly strictly employed cutting short our lazy morning. Otherwise a 9/10!

A large site set back from the beach.
The facilities were good, excellent kitchen, super hot showers, small shop onsite. had some nice walks to the wetlands and along the dines to the beach. good site probably a bit busy in the high season, but in spring there was plenty of space.

A wonderful place to spend the night.
Had a fantastic stroll up to the ski station and enjoyed the sun setting multiple times over the mountain as we walked down. Woke up to a perfect sunny morning, walked up the mountain and had breakfast before another soul joined us on the mountain. Fantastic.

Wilderness Motorhomes

Last year we travelled the South Island with Wilderness, it was so good that this year we are back and travelling through the North Island!.
The Breeze 2 we rented is just perfect for a couple. Wilderness provide all the necessary add ons, this year we had a couple of mountain bikes on the back and had great fun riding the trails along the way!
If you want quality, good service and to be iconic, Wilderness is the way to go.
