We have stayed twice at this excellent park, in our Motorhome.
Facilities are top class, and very clean. Grounds are lovely, with nice gardens and Avocado trees. Very well set up camp, well done. Quiet peaceful setting, with no permanents, and plenty of space.

On a recent stay, lighting was very bad outside.
We stay in camps for security, but lighting was so bad at night, we even had a bad fall, over a low rail, which could not be seen in the dark. Not up to usual Top 10 standard generally.

DOC have made an amazing job of the upgrades here over the last few years.
Extending Windows Walk, so you can loop back on Crown Track - amazing views of old ruins, the Waitawheta River. Lots of other walks, up Mt Karangahake, if you have more time, or can do just a short walk. All options covered. Well done

DOC have done a great job, updating the camp, with better toilets.
This is a beautiful site for a camp, down by the river, near some lovely mature trees for shade in summer.

We have been staying at this camp for years, on our trips away in our motorhome.
Hope the previous Manage is enjoying his well earned retirement. Camp is quiet, well set up, can visit the kiwi house (which we have done often) or just walk around the adjacent park in the evening. there is a lovely spotted brown kiwi in one of the pens, who loves having his photo taken. Very pleasant town, to have a wander around, close to lots of other amenities - like Waitomo Caves. Love these small camps, and pleased to see it survived threatened closure, a few years ago. Keep up the good work.

We walked the Ruakuri bushwalk, and were very impressed with the views, stone and limestone formations, caves, underground caverns, stream.
It has the WOW factor, and all for free!! Also went to Limestone Bridge, and Marokopa Falls - a great trio to visit, and all free.

What a great place to visit - very well maintained track, by DOC.
guys working there, also told us about Natural Bridge, and Ruakuri Bush Walk, both just up the road going towards Waitomo Caves - we started at Marakopa end, and all 3 get a 10/10 All 3 are free, and well worth the walks.

This must be the best kept secret on the Coromandel.
Campsites very well set up, facilities top notch, - glass doors on showers - very high pressure. So quiet at night - except for the morepork. The birds and animals are wonderful - over 400, and so well housed and kept. Was a privilege to stay there. Well done to the owners. Very close to Hot Water beach, the beach, etc. Very reasonable tariff.

Wow, did I have a great experience today.
i was given a trip with Harley tours - I am a retiree, and the last motor bike I was on was a Panther in 1963!! Baz and Ali made sure I was kitted out in leathers and helmet, then we set off on a Ultra Classic Harley, where I sat in almost an armchair!! Baz was most helpful, and explained about the trip we took - into the Karangahake gorge, then up past Owharoa Falls, and thru the countryside. what a great experience, and a great gift, many thanks to Baz and Ali, and my family. would recommend to anyone.
