This is a tricky review as we know if we wanted a flash top notch campervan we would have paid a lot more.
It was a bit shabby inside, it creaked and groaned somewhat but that was ok- however what was not good was the intermittent failing electrics for the indicators- after a good try by Britz at fixing it in Queenstown the problem came back the day before we dropped it off in Christchurch. We wondered what the insurance situation would have been if someone hit us and we were accused of not indicating when we thought we were? The van would not get a warrant of fitness in that state, so not great. Dont mind cheap and cheerful, but dodgy mechanics is another matter.
Apart from that, the big 6 berth mercedes was easy to drive and very powerful, automatic gearbox was surprisingly good-even going down Bluff hill. A few inventory issues but the Queenstown staff were very obliging in putting that right.
Britz knows who we are as we told them in Christchurch when I dropped it off, they seemed only mildy interested however- you need to pull that particular van off the road and re wire it for the sake of the next hirers.

Ok if you like listening to the loud fan under the ladies showers screaming out all night across the campervan area.
Water ran out halfway through the shower. It could do with some competition.

Its a pretty good place to stay in a campervan, but my wife used the portacom showers and had a very bad time- apparently the whole floor floods.

Big site but thats ok-clean and modern kitchen and bathrooms, close to airport so good for last night before flying out.
People leave unwanted unopened food in the kitchen before dropping their vans off- so you could do well to graze before loading up if you are arriving in Christchurch.
Big minus is the high price- even Queenstown was far cheaper for similar facilities.

Facilities are brand new but oddly there were only 2 toilets and three showers for the campervan area.
Queues in the men showers and the toilets always busy. An odd decision to spend all that money but skimp on the number of bathroom facilities.

Its ok.
Big but good playground. A few bogans with feral children but our campervans were away from them thankfully.

Bevan the owner ( I presume) sat down one day and obviously thought through "how can I design the perfect campervan park".
The big parking sheds for the campervans to keep you out of the rain are truly inspired. Toilets and showers like you would find at the Hilton Hotel.

I liked it.
Quirky but clean. Boards of Larson cartoons on the toilet cubicle walls to read were more fun than the inevitable camp rules some operators put in the same location for their captive audience.

Amazing location, overall pretty good.
Only letdown is the showers are rather 1960's rugby club like. Mike behind the counter is a great guy, real character.
Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to let you know that we have just re done the Male Bathrooms. New paint job, re-done the floor and new shower cubicles! It's looking good!
