Pretty much literally on the beach, the kitchen is old, but once you figure out how it works it is great, very homey.

We nearly ran out of gas and were very hopeful that there would be a station in Punakaiki, but there was not for another 50km.
The crew sold us some of their emergency stash.

I was hoping to get a little closer to the actual glacier, but there are many signs telling you of the dangers.
Hot and dry. Beautiful sheer cliff faces carved by the glacier.

We had a faulty clutch on our campervan.
We bought it back and the mechanics said it would be fine. On our way to the Fiordland we came into more trouble.

Beautiful valley, snowy peaks to the east and south.
We caught a great sunset through the fog. In a cow pasture so watch out for pies. Great freedom camping!!

Beautiful!
Well marked and maintained. Great swimming holes all up and down. We ended up laying on rocks in the sun for hours longer than we planned. Great walk.
