The van was booked 12 months ago, and confirmed 4 weeks and 1 week before arrival, but on collection they did not have the van we booked.
Also no NZ mobile phone, paid for in advance. 40km down the road the oil light came on so had to go to garage to sort!!!

You see the earthquake protection of the buildings and go into the chamber. We shared a lift with the speaker!

What a fantastic museum.
We paid two visits and only saw about half of the exhibits. Everything is well displayed so you learn a lot. There is also free WIFI!!!

Very helpful staff.
Good facilities. Quiet site by stream. Free one hour internet (but not on whole site - kitchen worked)! Reduced entry to orchid house. They recycled holiday brochures here - good. Free swimming pool.

The staff there could not have been nicer.
Everything very well maintained. Free spade (for digging pool on beach), provided with Top10 membership. Excellent fish and chip shop on site.

Good to actually see a kiwi.
The museum gave insight into the history of Whangarei but it was raining too hard for us to explore the outside exhibits.

Geyser experience fascinating as was bubbling mud and Maori buildings and crafts.
However, it was rather an expensive experience and very crowded.
