Only did a three hour walk from Anakiwa.
Great views, though water taxi back not cheap and Abel Tasman track offer better beaches.

Really knowledgable staff, who helped us plan our whole four days in the area.
As with all i-sites, hard to find information easily on freedom camping.

Fantastic setting which makes their site.
Quiet bay with swimming and cheap kayak hire. Good facilities including hot showers. Paid $15 per person, per night.

Awesome rafting trip down the Wairoa River and a unique experience given the river is only open once a month when a dam is released.
Lots of fun.

Good for a cheaper end van.
A bit older than some other options, but everything you need and a nice size for two (Toyota Hiace 2003 model). Easy to park!!

Gorgeous bays and views.
Great option for one night if you have no camping gear is getting a water taxi from Marahau to Tonga Bay then stay in AquaPackers (Anchorage).
