Very nice basic forrest campground, if you are looking for a place with 60 inch plasmas and Gaggenau kitchen appliances, look elsewhere.
But if you can handle a real camping experience be close to ocean and forrest you have found the right place. Superb campground!

Pretty nice campground, its bit tricky to get to the beach, it looks like its just there, but it is actually quite a bit to walk., Nice clean facilities, but try to get a "river side" spot, and not in
the back of ground as it can smell a bit of sewer down that end. Otherwise great and a beautiful place and beach!

Great spot only 35ish K´s from Auckland, very large field to camp in and very cheap too, $15/car up to 4 ppl.
Heaps of walks, tramps and caves to see.
No kitchen facilities only cold showers and quite far walk to the beach trough the dunes (about 1 km I guess) and superfriendly management, very recommended.

Great campground, big and nice and since it only takes 40 ppl at the time (based on facilities we think) its never crowded, water toilets but you need to boil water 3 min before drinking it, it even got
a small swimming hole in the stream, very nice. Unfortunately very little info about all the beautiful hikes you can do there, so get your info before you get there as there is no cellphone reception.

Excellent camp ground with its own little swinging pond too, very nice but bit muddy water (not that I care) basic facilities and toilets/showers.
This place is all about being out in nature, 15 min walk/2 min drive to a perfect surf beach. A truly AMAZING place for a weekend, only bout 1 h 45 min from Auckland.

It is basically a gravel field you park up on, far away from toilets and showers, not very clean, no kitchen.
Ok setting thoe and nice to walk in the low tide.
