Britz was fabulous.
From the pre-hire information and discussions, through the pickup and to drop-off everything was professional and friendly. The Campervan (Mercedes Sprinter "Elite" setup, approx 160,000 kms on odometer), was in excellent condition, performed well, and was a joy to live in for a month. It came with just about everything we could want, and everything was in top condition. The entire experience was great. Highly recommended. We would certainly rent from Britz in the future.

Superb location next to booming surf and stony beach.
The kitchen, lounge, and showers are in an old schoolhouse on the site, which adds a lot of character.

Another stunning drive in New Zealand.
About midway is the Kaleta Cafe - accomodation for tents and campers. It's perched on a hilltop - wonderful place to spend the night and watch the sunset. You can even see the peaks of Ruapetu and Ngaunuhoe(sp?) in tongariro Nat Pk.

This place is probably not everyone's cup of tea, but we found it fascinating.
The area is dead flat, and the fierce winds of +/- 70-80 kmph flattened the swells on the Firth and ensured all campervans faced to the wind in a neat row to avoid being tipped. At first glance the place was featureless and monotonous. However, a leisurely and very windy walk showed an amazing landscape; a beach with up to 600mm of shells thick over a silty base that clinked and squeaked as you walked over them, a forest of morose Tuckamore-like trees being swallowed by the sea, gangly shorebirds giving me the cautious eye, fantastic and colourful and twisted shell hunting, a silent tide that revealed the flats then mutely covered them, fishermen seemingly walking on a thin sea as they set traps and lines, and on the other side of the road a great sunset over the hills and endless wildflowers. The more I looked the more photogenic and interesting the place became.
It stands in contrast to every other place we stayed. It is not for everyone. But if you have the right frame of mind it will reveal it's wonders.

We arrived late on Christmas eve.
The office was shut and curtains closed. I tapped on the door although I thought it useless. They opened shop, were extremely pleasant, and gave us a great site. People say we Canadians are friendly, but we're a bunch of curmudgeons compared to you Kiwis.
