Wow as a family with two young boys (7 and 12) Mot Top 10 have the experience pegged.
From the well maintained facilities of Pool (with climbing wall and slide); movies in conference centre twice a day; lovely outdoor kitchens (all with BBQs); free showers to the helpful staff to book tours or ask questions, this has been a great experience! There is even a good coffee barista cart in mornings!
At first I thought a little expensive but extended our stay and made the camp base for exploring the Abel Tasman.
Well done to he owners and management who are always about for a chat. Really friendly camp!

Great family morning - 2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 12) kayaking around to Split Apple Rock.
We stopped on the beach for refreshments and went exploring the beach caves. Some leading to others which the kids thought was great.
Trip was about 2.5 hours long. Double kayaks so no trouble when the kids got tired of paddling.
Our Guide Perrin was tops. She had good knowledge of the area and really knew how to encourage the younger crew (8-14yrs) with paddling and the older crew to try the cave challenge :).
Kaiteriteri is a great spot to chill out after trip with yummy coffee or milkshake on the beach!

What a fantastic experience!
We are a family of 4 with kids 12 and 7. 12yr old loved riding the quad bike and me and our 7yr old had a blast in the dune buggy. Complete off road experience for 2 hours with our guide Min. Through waterways and mud, across farm land, through bush and bog 100%! Highly recommend the experience. Great operators and owners who have a passion for what they do. Thanks Mike and team!

Hi John and Mary, Thank you for the opportunity to use the very well thought out Roadcraft BaseJumper L4 Campervan for our family holiday!
We are a family of four (2 Adults, 9yr old boy and 4yr old boy) and thought we would take the L4 to the central North Island in mid August! I must admit as a Mum I was somewhat apprehensive about 1) the size of the vehicle with three boisterous males 2) how cold it is in mid August and 3) where we would fit ski gear, clothes, food and wine! The L4 was brilliant! Our week entailed a lot of very average weather and we spent three days staying in National Park including Freedom Camping at two Doc Camps on the side of Ruapehu, side trips to Waiouru, Fielding and Wanganui then a night beside Lake Taupo on the way home. The tripping around was a breeze with the upfront DVD player (including wireless earphones) for peace and quiet when the boys were being boys. The freedom camping two nights running was no problem with plenty of power and surprisingly a very workable kitchen for Spaghetti Bolognese and Bangers with Risotto. The kids loved exploring the areas of forest and streams and not being confined to a Holiday Camp in winter. The nights were toasty warm with diesel heater set to 1 ½ and no need to go out in cold for toilet stops....marvellous! Gosh I almost forgot to say how good the shower was as a drying room. We had a lot of wet ski gear and basically hung it all in the shower/drying room, cranked up the diesel heater....which was vented into shower, and went exploring outside for a while. Each time we were surprised how quickly things dried. I am sure others have suggested this, but is there a way that you can turn off the heating vents into the cabin while leaving the vent wide open into the shower for drying? This was a fabulous trip and the memories will last a lifetime. Thank you once again for making it most enjoyable! Kindest Regards Berry Family - Auckland
