Brilliant company to rent from.
Helpful and friendly staff right from the start when we made enquirys for reserving through to the end of our trip. We had a few problems along the way including another campervan crashing into our door. However Jucy were really helpful and understanding and there were no problems. We rented the jucy condo and were really pleased with it. It was well equiped, nice and spacious for two. The van didnt like the uphill parts of the road too much but for a camper van we werent expecting to race around and it added charcter to the van. If we ever had the chance to do it again we would definitly rent with Jucy. Only slight niggle was the linnen didnt smell very clean when we got the van. I think this was due to the quilts not being aired enough.

Nice location although camp site can get very cramped due to it being quite small.
This ruined it a bit for us. No showers which was a shame seen as we still had to pay 12 dollars and the toilet wasnt very clean.

Despite the fact that we didnt see any whales and the sea was very rough, the staff were very informative, helpful and friendly.
Thanks for taking the time to share about your whale watch experience, it is a real shame that you were unable to sight a whale when with us. When dealing with nature it is hard to predict what we are going to see from one day to the next both sightings & weather wise... We hope the rest of your travels have been successful, thanks again.

Possibly the best campsite if not one of the best of our whole trip.
Friendly and helpful man on his bike who looks after the camp site and who passes regulaly through the camp site on his bike - nice touch. Perfect location. Although the showers were cold, for 12 dollars a night we were more than happy. Facilities were clean and theres lots of room to camp.

Dont be detured by the 3km gravel road to the campsite.
It adds the character to the camp site. Lovely and in the middle of nowhere with only the sheep and ducks as company.

Brilliant fun and informative trip out on the sea.
Staff really friendly and our guide really knew what he was talking about when giving us a tour of the area. Plus the hot drinks on the beach were very impressive, considering he made them on the beach. Definitly worth the money

The campsite was tidy but different from all the others we stayed at.
In a residential area however only a few minutes walk from the beach. Own little shower and toilet was brilliant.

Nice camp site but shame about the token operated showers.
Also location not as nice as we thought it would be. Lots of dead fish in the water..... :(
Hi Jenben, Thanks for your response. We are very conscious of the charge for the showers but it is only $1 and we do try to keep the rates down to compensate. We put the charge on for two main reasons. The first was that our water was solar heated (cold showers are free) and what was happening was that when the showers were free children were having hot showers after every swim and when the adults came to have a shower in the evenings all the hot water had been used. The other reason is because during summer many local residents who rely on rain water use our facilities to try to conserve their own supply. While we are happy for them to do this the small charge makes sure they don't abuse the opportunity.
While most of our campers who are keen fishermen are really considerate and take their fish skeletons out into the channel when they have finished preparing them sometimes less considerate visitors don't .... we do try to encourage everybody to be responsible but it doesn't always work - sorry!
Thanks again for the comments we welcome reviews (even the bad ones) as it always gives us feedback we can work on. Have a great trip for the rest of your stay in NZ. Kia Ora!

Lovely campsite not far from Picton right next to the beach.
Nice clean facilites and lovely doc ranger who looked after the place and showed us the glow worms at night. For 12 dollars a night it was good value for money and there was plenty of space so as to be secluded.

Staff frendly and helpful.
Nice small campsite although a lot of extension work and development seemed to be going on for the future. Good facilites although shame the hot water on the token operated showers was just a little too short. Located next to the highway but still quiet at night and not far from Hahei beach and Cathedral Cove.
Thank you for your review, and trust you enjoyed the rest of your time in the Coromandel and NZ.
We too are excited about our current development/building project of a boutique brewery/cafe/ restaurant .
We anticipate opening in March "13! Watch this space! Thanks again.
Kind regards,Dawn and Alan.

Brilliant day out and well worth the money.
We got the boat with the bus trip included which is defintily worth it. The little man who drove the mini bus is really friendly and really knows his stuff about Milford Sound. He gave us lots of information and stories along the way making the trip much more interesting than if you were to go by yourself. Boat trip lovely and friendly staff too, just like Jucy services in anything else.
