This campsite is now closed and is only a carpark to view the beautiful lake.
I can see why they closed camping - it looks like that the night before someone came through and destroyed the bathrooms.
A pretty pit-stop to view the lake on the way to Rotarura but not a place to stay.

A lovely little place to stay; a treasure that Graham and his late wife built together.
Still some farm animals to interact with and if you catch Graham in the afternoon he'll drop you off to Hobbiton for the evening banquet (just make sure when you're at Hobbiton to mention you're staying at Da Barn and they'll drop you back!). I'm not sure if breakfast is still offered; I don't think so anymore.
It's a simple and sweet spot if you're planning to attend the evening Hobbiton banquet knowing you'll be able to safely return back.
And no worries if you get stung by a paper wasp, Graham will help you out with some ice packs and a wholesome chat to make you feel better.
