One of my favorite freedom overnight stays through our whole NZ trip!
Good facilities and a fantastic beach, directly next to one of my favorite hikes in NZ.
In summer months you need to come early, fills quickly, space for 5 - 6 campervans.

The views and accesses on that site are amazing!
But the rules are strict and the owners seem to be a little grumpy, but if you get in talk with them they’re unfreezing;)

One of the best freedom camp spots in NZ, the beach and the sundowns there are magic, even if there are no facilities!

Absolutely outstanding!
Lots of spaces 50 Meters away from the beach. New and clean facilities, even a cold shower!

Cute campsite, with lots of green, enough space for unpowered sites especially, but the laundry is way too expensive, nobody’s in the office and the facilities are too basic for that price (55 NZD powered
, 40 NZD unpowered for 2 adults + 2NZD Surcharge)

Huge freedom campsite, good facilities, but some weird people down here and the beach is quite stony, have seen better campsites at the east coast of north island..

Good spot!
Very good and clean facilities, not far from the city of Hanmer Springs.
When it’s raining and you’re having a thin car roof, make sure you’re not standing under thick branches, or droplets will keep you awake during the night.

Nice spot, but very full and loud!
Standing centimeters next to each others camper and loud motorcycles around that area..
Toilets are okay, but have seen better ones on my journey through NZ.
Views are stunning, though!
