Good place to stay if you want to do a night tour at Tekapo springs (highly recommend!
:)) as you can just walk there.
Great views but it’s very pricey for what you get - they surely know that they are the only campsite at the lake.
Not enough facilities for the amount of guests, we had to stand in line to use the toilet in the morning or to wash our dishes after dinner and everything gets dirty real quickly as so many people use it.
The showers have a timer and a two minute break before you can get hot water again which is really annoying if you want to wash your long hair.
The sites are really close together and from a lot of them it’s a really long walk to the toilets (longest we ever had at a campsite).
All in all an average and overpriced campsite, you pay for the location.

Good place to stay before dropping off your campervan, there’s everything you need: dump station, recycling station, car wash nearby and a fuel station where you can fill up lpg gas.
Apart from that we wouldn’t really recommend it. Everything’s grey and old, facilities were not that clean and showers are on a 6 min timer.

Small campsite in the forest with a homely vibe :) perfect place to do a Doubtful Sound tour, it’s just a ten minute walk.
I would recommend getting a powered site, the unpowered ones were extremely close together, like small parking lots. Lots of sandflies so we couldn’t really use the outdoor stuff. If you take a shower use the one inside the lounge!

Some sites are really uneven, be prepared that it can be a bit challenging to park.
We were on a Seaview site that was extremely uneven but the views were worth it! The sites without direct seaview are sheltered and you get a lot of privacy. Clean facilities, showers have a timer. We saw dolphins and penguins! 😍 the cafe is really nice, you can have Thai food for lunch or dinner. We really enjoyed our stay!

It’s a nice and peaceful campground, good for families.
There was just one thing we found very irritating and not peaceful at all: there was a sheep tied to a little cage in the garden for the guests to pet and feed. There were kids chasing it around and the sheep seemed to be very stressed out and scared of humans in general. We think it’s very cruel to have a sheep live like that for the guests amusement.
There definitely need to be rules for supervising kids around the animals!
