We stayed here three nights while getting my PADI Open Water Dive certification in the Poor Knights Islands.
The campground hostess is nice and the groundskeeper went above and beyond to help us get settled in. We stayed in a tent. We had a small car.
The communal facilities are clean and well stocked with appliances. The bathrooms are clean and the showers take $0.50 NZ for 7 minutes of hot water. Plenty of time for a shower (and cheap!) one of my favorite things about this campground is the birds! There are native NZ birds everywhere: Tui, fantail, red bill gull, paradise duck, pukeko, yellowhammer, silvereye, double banded plover and more! Go for an evening walk to see them at their most active. If you are lucky, you may hear the morepork and kiwi bird at night... Listen closely!

We stayed in a tent and have a small car.
We arrived without reservation, after hours; I called the number on the reception door and someone met me within 5 minutes. The park is not really set up for tents. It's loud and crowded with no privacy. The facilities are clean, the kitchen well equipped with stove, fridge, freezer. Bring your own cookware. Showers and toilets are clean. Good price and location for a quick stop over. I gave the rating of 7 because we stayed in a tent and it's not really set up for a tent, but the facilities more than make up for that.

We stayed one night in a tent.
We had a small car.
Road to campground is gravel and steep with washboard ruts. Car was able to pass easily. Basic camground, drop toilets, cold water showers, non potable water, no other services. We camped under a tree in the grass. The beach was 30m away. The night sky here is spectacular! Water is cold but the bay is swimmable. One of our favorite campgrounds so far.
