45 minutes of stunning red beech forest - but lots of time to stand and stare, take photos, meet with the birds and wonder at all that green moss.

Long dusty track but beautiful lake, lots of space, shelter, privacy - middle of nowhere.
Well worth $7 each. All DOC sites have been winners especially off the beaten track.

Really friendly and professionally, sensibly run.
Great food too. Fun and informative, light commentary. Saw lots of wildlife too. Comfy bunks, swam and kayaked too and social if you wish.

Good advice to take early boat to avoid multilingual commentary!
Also very quiet so easy to move around and see everything. PS Doubtful much better!! A great cruise in itself.

Very friendly, hospitable, good basic facilities, at a good price.
Chamomile rugby pitch, views of hills, sound of sea beyond lagoon; fantastic sunsets, gift of fresh mussels!!!

Overnight sea kayak to Doubtful Sound.
Had to supply own food. Good fun, well organised, informative, challenging but fine for a fit beginner. Was with a good bunch of people.

We had to wait in a biting wind until dark dusk, volunteers explained and had red torches so as not to harm their eyes, little penguins rafted in and walked companionably home to their young, through our
feet as we held our breath!!

With huge rollers on shore and a strong crosswind the seas were beautiful with 'White Horses'.
Along the sands with sealions (eventually) yellow-eyed penguins and sliding down the dunes.

Welcoming, family run, all facilities and any help wanted was provided.
Good local advice.

So impressed already so went for a short cruise to Te Anau Glowworm Caves to relax on the lake on a hot day.
Very enjoyable and cave so dark and silent; well managed.
