Laid back atmosphere, funky camping trailers on site for use, but common areas not up to same standard as other campgrounds......and you will pay the same amount!

We wanted to see a kiwi and were rewarded with vies of a 2 hour old chick and another being fed, others weighed etc and we learned a lot about them!!
Need a greater variety of birds.

Large campground, so lots of people......but plenty of facilities for cooking, showering, laundry and it is directly across from the most beautiful beach!!

Staff were competent and helpful at pickup (airport).
Gave us directions to grocery store etc. Campervan is older than we expected and underpowered. Despite that, the company was extremely accomodating when we made a last minute change to our dropoff location.

Dramatic scenery, steep climbs and a long downhill.
Worst part is scree and loose ash at Red Crater. But great hike if you are in shape! Should have more bathrooms and BIG sign telling everyone to pack out their trash..... of all kinds!! People throw out food waste, toilet paper etc.
