Parking lot next to the beach but beside a park A great stop for a night with flush toilets Filled up before 4 (we stayed Friday Nov 1) - many disappointed people arrived and had to depart after that

Amazing free camping spot Newly painted flush toilet stalls and cold running water Next to a park with several places to park - likely room for 8-10 vans!
Worth the drive from the highway between Arthurs Pass and Christchurch! Signed - a 60 yo Couple from Canada in a small sleeper van 😀

A good spot for an overnight stay It is a car park and far more than the 10 allowed units came in but no one official objected Flush toilets in the outdoor beach style change room and 2 cold outdoor
showers
Some noise from the shipping yard but not bad Lovely beach to walk along and we did see the little blue penguins
coming into the rocks near the far beach end at dusk
There are extra lovely flush toilets on the other side of the nearby tunnel as well

Fantastic site!
Clean flush toilets Lots of space (some areas quite un level) Obviously a favorite spot for locals to play on the lake! Apparently dry by last summer but wonderful now!

Ok for a single night stop - level parking lot with lots of space no amenities but close to town Locals doing spin outs in the lot around 11 pm - spitting rocks everywhere
