Stayed here again at the weekend to "blob out".
Another great stay, although weather a bit cloudy. Amenities were spotless as usual and camp hosts were friendly as always .Hope to be back again soon.

We have recently hired one of these lovely Bolero motorhomes for 10 days to look around the South Island.
We found it to be a really modern motorhome but had a couple of gripes about it. We found the made-up bed not very wide for two people and felt like we rolled to the middle sometimes. Also the toilet area was very small even though the actual toilet could swivel around to give more room. The rest of the motorhome was really good though. We loved the swivel seats in the front, and found the curtains and also the heating superb. One last gripe we had was that we got a cracked windscreen (through no fault of ours) and had to pay for a new one. I did read the terms and conditions and knew we would have to pay for it, but i think by taking out the full insurance cover the windscreen should be included, as it is with other companies. We found Richy and the team in Christchurch to be very friendly and also good at explaining everything.
Hi Lindsay
So sorry to hear your gripes, its very unfortunate that you felt that an excess on the insurance isnt your responsability.
Sad to hear, but that's the way insurance works, it was just the excess you paid which is a very large saving on a new screen.
Each company offers differences, some on price, some on mileage charges, most charging a bond, we think we have the best insurance option, given the value of our motorhomes compared to other companies, and we are so pleased that you found the motorhome luxurious and warm.

A nice camp with views overlooking the lake if one gets the right site.
Clean toilets and "shub" showers ($2). Walking distance to hot pools & close to shops. Mt John observatory worth a visit for excellent views. Drove our motorhome up in the daytime. Free shuttle from town at night as no vehicles allowed up then.Powered site at the camp was $40

A great free stopover close to the sea and walking areas.
Close to the wharf but didn't worry us as only slight noise. Sealed area and also a toilet next to the motorhome parking area which is a bonus. Parking for around 10 motorhomes. 10 min walk to town.Go down Port Loop Rd, left into Marine Pde then turn 2nd culvert left into the parking area behind skating rink by toilets.

A really beautiful stopover at Pinders Pond for self contained motorhomes, (I would call it a lake).Quite a few spots at different parts of the area with great views over the pond.
No water, and only a smelly longdrop.Just a few km's from Roxburgh on Teviot Rd.I think there may be a few "mozzies" too ,but they didn't bother us in May.

Just off the main road on left over the dam coming from south.
A large free area with plenty parking places and awesome views of the lake, (and Mt Cook when there's no cloud). Longdrop toilet on the hill but rarely used. (smelly). Ideal for self containment

Very spacious camp with good views from a lot of the sites.
Also had some more private sites if one wanted. Weather was not good when we stayed but could see it would be a good well run camp, & really busy in the summer. Rough road in but think this is a council issue. Really great manager.

We stayed here on 3rd May so not too crowded.Good smallish basic camp 50 metres from the sea.
Some sites with sea views. The (new) free showers and toilets would have to be the best I have seen. They were spotless. Had a chuckle in the camp kitchen as everyone has written their names on the walls, (which is allowed). Awesome owners. Recommended

A great spot looking up to the falls from the back of our motorhome.
They had recently had rain so the falls were full and looked good with plenty water flowing over them. Nice facilities.

Stayed her for a night in May.
Very clean and tidy with all facilities, opposite nice beach, which one can only get a slight glimpse of. I thought $42 for two was expensive though for a couple in May, but Top 10's are a bit "overpriced."
Glad you enjoyed our park and facilities, we do not think we are expensive as there are no extra charges apart from the laundry.

Nice camp overlooking large lake/s.
Basic facilities but great outlook .Good camping area. Could get busy in Summer but plenty room. Only downside for some would be the cold showers. Ranger collects fees of $10pp.

Stopped a night here in May.
Although the weather was a bit rough it was a nice camp right on the beach. Basic facilities, but would be great in the Summer to get away from it all. Helpful staff.

After reading the reviews we thought this would be an awesome camp in the motorhome but were disappointed when we seen all of the permanent/semi permanent caravans etc.
The camp itself was good, with clean & tidy facilities and in a lovely spot, although very crowded .Lady in the office was nice and helpful too. I realize the permanents are probably the camps "bread & butter" in the off season but think they should be separate from the other tourists.ps I am a kiwi.

We pulled into this camp in May, knocked on the door a few times and no one came out.
So we drove in, took a look around the camp and drove out again without getting out of the motorhome. It looked dirty & run down sorry to say.

Was going to give higher than a 10 but couldn't find it.
What can i add. Not too much but read the reviews. Kevin & Sue would be the best hosts you could find anywhere. Basic camp at the moment but plenty of good ideas coming from Kevin. The hospitality is out of this world. Hope we can return someday. All the best, Marg & Lindsay
many thanks marg & lindsay for your feed back,
really nice of you hope to see you again

Beautiful camp with clean, modern facilities.
Only complaints, gate locked at 10pm. had to have a number to get in at other times.the guy in the office seemed a bit grumpy...not good for a camp.Gorgeous town.
