We had a lovely one night stay for $25 per adult with 2 kids free.
Older site but the facilities are immaculate, the reception so friendly and welcoming, camper dump site and water fill station handy, clean and with soap. Great night sky and water views. Lovely soft green grass. 10mins walk to a supermarket. Generally quiet - only one douff stuff car drove past at night. Only catch was toilet block light timing out mid showering mum and kids but enough light to see to get out and turn back on. Lovely hot water.

It was over crowded when we went.
Lots of people outside the rules and a fair few people were spoken to by the ranger in the morning - the rules are regulated and those outside the rules notified/fined. Public toilets are pretty dirty there. Open fields ok for playing ball/ frisbee on. Traffic at nearby roundabout is really bad at peak hour. Don't try going after 5pm.

Helpful reception staff.
The current rate in October school holidays for 2 adults and 2 children under five in a campervan is $75 per night. Thermal Pools Holiday Park has similar amenities for $55 per night for same group.

Oouph Taupo is expensive!
More expensive than Rotorua which surprised me. We enquired at this resort but it as $150+ per night for 2 adults and 2 kids (regardlesss of age over 1) in campervan. Very busy park with lots happening so perhaps good if you wanted to stay for a week on a family holiday but not so good for road holidays where you arrived after 4pm and leave by 10am as you wouldn't get the most out of the facilities and so pay an awful lot for power and a parking spot for a night. We didn't stay.

Pretty good.
$55 per night for 2 adults and 2 children under 5 in a campervan powered site. Thermal pools are included and were lovely with varying temperatures to suit all. At intersection so pool and road side sites get noise until about 10pm but otherwise fine. Dryers have a very long cycle of 90mins compared to other industrial ones we have used. Hot showers are pretty good. Some spray in all directions due to high pressure and leaks. Friendly reception though there was a pricing discrepancy between what we were charged and our friends who had the same party size and setup. Pricing depends on site (grass vs gravel), age of kids etc so it's worth asking questions.

This place is beautiful!
Pretty quiet, well maintained. It was perfect for us and the kids enjoyed exploring the museum park which you can do even when the museum is closed. $20 for powered site (a bargain) and $15 unpowered. Lovely clean toilets with fly screens to stop the bugs that like to buzz around lights at night. Really enjoyed this spot and recommend it.
