The guided tour through the park and crafts was quite good.
But we get no information about family life, their settling in NZ and their life today. For such small information the price for the entrance - especially the so called 'show' - was too high!! Better to visit Te Papa Museum.

The parks are all clean, the ways are well prepared, the signs leading to attractions are good - we just get enough information.

The description in the campsite guide did not mention that the lake has to be reached over the road - not directly.
The smell of sulphur was too strong, not good for children because the playground is on the side of a sulphur hot pool.

The caves themselves are really impressive.
The information given was quite good. The entrance paid are too high for such a short trip - we have been in European caves and paid less money for longer walks under the earth - we expected more.

The Kiwi exhibition and the view behind the scenes was fantastic!
The whole park and its attractions was worth the money we spent. Ideal for families - also with young children. Lots of information and you can pat the fishes.
Thanks for your great review :)

A fantastic place!
The sites behind the dunes and the beautiful coast and super beach fitted together 100%. We hope it lasts like this.

We did not see the kiwi because it was sleeping although we were there at 3pm.
The exhibition behind was quite informative, also the Bird's house. But for this information about the Kiwi, we paid too much entrance fee.
