To take a break from tent-living, we stayed in a little cabin here - cheap and warm with a comfy bed (you need to bring your own duvet or rent one).
Cheap & nice. Sure, you have to pay for the showers but add the $1 to the room charge, it's still cheap. Nice location, good facilities.

There had been a big dump of rain so it was a bit wet on the ground.
Nice site, clean toilets, love the sound of the river all night. Be considerate & don't arrive late and wake everyone up!

Clean, well maintained & quiet - we heard the stags roaring across the river!
Nice fishing nearby. Do the Rakaia Gorge jetboat trip and walk back down the track.

Nice, quiet location - had fighting possums in the trees!
This ground gets quite wet after rain so you need to look around for a dryish tent site. Vans should find it OK. Too many people leave their litter laying around - clean up around your site & help everyone out.
