Really unique experience.
Full day is the go, the guide does all the hard work so it's easy peasy. Bonus if you get a sunny day. Hukawai glacier centre is worth a look too.

A totally unique place to visit.
Laid back luxury. Worth spending a few bucks even just for a feed.

A bit of the trip off the main highway.
The 4 sec of freefall makes up for it!
North Island ▷ Hawkes Bay ▷ Napier ▷
3.5/5
Sweet location close to town.
One main pool with jets and cool water showers and a couple of hotter large spa pool things. Lap pool, sauna and steam room also if that's your thing.
North Island ▷ Bay of Plenty ▷ Whakatane ▷

Just a big pool with hot water.
You can put your head under though.
North Island ▷ Tairāwhiti Gisborne ▷ Mahia ▷

Great spot for a soak after a surf in Mahia.
Best baths are a 10 min walk up the path.

Cool private wooden tubs, a fresh refill of water every time and silky smooth water.
Worth a side trip.

Water can be a bit black (depends on rain) but the natural location makes up for it.
Winter prob best time to go - snow on the ground and no sandflys. Accom options OK but probably best as a stop on the way through. One of our favorites.
