This place was a piece of paradise.
Our host was wonderful and he helped us sort an amazing site with a little stream at the back and weka cruising around.
The beach was very gorgeous tho the water was super chilly for the time of year and not many were braving past their knees.
The only downside was the fast influx of many daytrippers who park everywhere and can block you in if you're wanting to break camp and move on. We had to do some strategic parking to make sure we could get out. We were there at peak season and the weather was gorgeous so perhaps only a problem at those times.
Would love to go back to Whites Bay and camp for longer.

A gorgeous hidden gem.
Short walk through lush, tropical bush comes out at an amazing g piece of coast. Just up from Punakeiki, this area also has stunning rock formations in sweeping layers and vast overhangs and caves.
Magical.

Amazing.
We stayed on the right hand side and enjoyed the place almost all to ourselves as the camp tries to keep things spacious and not packed in. We had a private stay surrounded by Manuka trees. The weather, the views, and the lake were all stunning.
I was blown away by our stay, I've never experienced a commercial campground like this, it was perfect for us.

This was adequate for a close stay for the ferry but nothing pretty going on in the grass section we stayed on.
We were in a self-contained area that was one big green field so no features to park up to for some privacy. The views were high fences that looked on to industrial buildings.
There was a nice misty view of hills to the North East and the facilities were clean and functional.
The most expensive and unremarkable stay of our trip.
