Average hot pool experience, seemed expensive for only two 'hot' pools and a bathhouse.
Didn't particularly like the algae in the water and the mens changing room wasn't clean - big pool of water(?) on the toilet floor. Friendly staff. Wouldn't go again.

Stayed here the week after easter (Tue) and it was suprisingly busy.
Very cheap ($4 adult, $1.50 child) although facilities are basic as you'd expect. Close to the lake, bring your kayaks. Also bring insect repellant and apply liberally as sandflies here are lethal. Try Lake Rotoiti if you want slightly better facilities but we loved the remoteness here, thanks DOC!

Average location, average facilities, lots of residents which made you feel like an intruder, more expensive than the awesome park at Kaiteriteri, wouldn't stay again.

Cars for the boys and fashion for the girls.
Slightly expensive for what is an hour and a half at the most. Cafe food looks good but didnt try it.

We did the cruise to Tonga Bay, walk to Medlands beach at Bark Bay and then cruise back to Kaiteriteri and it was the perfect day.
We had Grabone vouchers so it was half price for us, might have baulked at paying full price to be honest.

Nice easy walk, great pathways and beautiful scenery.
The water is wonderfully clear. Nice FREE excursion.

Friendly host but expensive stay considering no dump station facilities, no wifi (it was down) and 4-minute showers that you had to pay extra for.
Only seemed to be one place to dump waste water as well which is bizarre for a park of this size.

We weren't sure whether to do this and sat at the cafe next door debating it.
In the end it was a case of 'Its only $15 each so lets just do it' and thank god we did. Very, very good tour, great formations and bones to look at and touch, friendly guide who knew his stuff and probably the best value you'll get for 15 bucks! DO IT, you will not regret it!

Very friendly wardens (on a bike!), very easy going camp, a few residents.
Basic but clean facilities as expected at only $6 each, hot showers that you pay extra for would be good. Great location though and you can have a fire on the beach (below high water line) or in the firepits provided, just use the driftwood on the beach. Large site, recommended, would definately stay again.

Fantastic campsite right next to the beach.
Facilities excellent and great hosts. Shop and cafe only meters away, cruises and kayaks leave from the beach, outstanding views - what more could you ask for. We stayed the week after easter and it was busy but bearable...I would imagine peak season could be hell though! Strongly recommend the Shoreline Cafe, food is excellent and very generous portions. The desserts are expensive but you'll understand why when they come out - works of art in both looks and taste. Also do the Tonga Bay cruise to Bark Bay walk with Wilsons, excellent day out and a good walk for the relatively fit. We'll be back!!

Enjoyed this more than we expected and thought the price was reasonable at the time (2010).
Quite good fun and the younger kids will get more from it than the teens.
