Wind kept us up all night shaking the van… other than that it’s good I suppose.
flat, dark, and toilets were good

Good for a night or 2 not what you would call “amazing”.
Spots are flat and it’s pretty quiet at night during the week. Bathrooms close and maintained and showers available until about 4pm daily

We only have just started the south island and this place is a MUST SEE.
The drive here takes a while but we made it here okay in our Toyota Hiace during dusk time. We are here in mid July and have the whole place to ourselves for multiple days. A bit cold in the mornings but afternoons are sun filled when the sun comes up over the mountain. Toilet at the campground and another one up by the hut just an 8 minute walk away. Several hikes to do from this location. Will be back in summer for sure

Nice and quiet at night, flat, and low light.
Bathrooms close and the gardens are beautiful to walk though. Here in July and there were enough spots even when showing up a bit later. Not sure if anyone really comes around to check on people though. Walking distance to countdown and some cafes. Will be back again

Got off the late ferry around midnight after having the first one cancelled on us.
This was a good spot not too far from Picton. Dark, quiet and flat. Parking is pretty random and you’ll feel like you’re not in the right place but you are. Go through the concrete barriers and then drive down the road and camp on the righthand side of the road on the water. Beautiful views in the morning. Bathroom close by as well

Quiet and clean.
Beach a short walk away and the Te Whara track is a beautiful hike if you’re up for it. Toilets were average and theres a cold shower outside of it. No rubbish bins

Great place to stay when making day trips to Whangarei.
Quiet, safe, spacious. Seems pretty relaxed about the 3 night rule it seems because theres a few locals that are there longer. (Don’t quote me on that though) Toilets and water available 24/7
