Fantastic campsite!
Really well set up, would be perfect for families. We enjoyed biking along the gorge trail. Kitchen well set up, games room, bbq area and clean bathrooms. Highly recommend staying here!

Amazing area to explore.
Great swimming hole and access to walking tracks. If you’re in a tent you can pick a lovely grassy spot near the river, but if not, you are sleeping in the car park. We stayed on a Friday night which got extremely busy and lots of cars still arriving after dark. Long drop toilets and no water taps. Doc staff came early in the morning to collect camp fees. Beautiful place to stay for $10 but expect crowds.

Camp right on the beach.
Large campground stretched right along the coast. For $10 a night it’s great value. There were lots of toilets and cold showers. We got unlucky with weather but imagine this would be a great spot on a good day. Good if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to lounge on the beach.

Loved the spa and pool.
Good facilities. Walking distance to beach. About 45 min walk to ferry over to Whitianga. A school group was there at the same time as us so it was quite noisy and busy.

Luxury campsite.
Best located campground on cooks beach. Beautiful grounds that are immaculately maintained. Small kitchen and bathroom but had all you need. Very generous size campsites. Walking distance to beautiful beaches, ferry and eggcentric cafe (awesome food!). Lovely staff. They have shovels you can borrow to take to hot water beach. We were given some free tokens for the showers. We timed it during some digger work so it was a bit noisy but otherwise loved our stay here.

Essentially a doc campsite.
Need to book online with the council. Basic facilities. Taps with drinking water. Flushing toilets. Showers were cold only, but look like they do go hot, so were maybe just out of order when we were there. Wardens came round so it feels safe. Amazing location with great walks and disk golf course. Lots of beautiful native birds around. We loved it here but it is expensive given the facilities are very basic. $24 per adult.

Great campsite.
Awesome location. Busy busy but had all the facilities you need which were well maintained. Friendly staff. Small campsites but if you’re planning on just sleeping there or hanging out in town/beach (both easy walk) it’s perfect. May need to book in advance.

Awesome campground.
Beautifully maintained grounds, lots of space and different areas to choose a camping spot. 10 min walk to the beach. Stream running though campground. Friendly owner/manager. Facilities a little old but so worth it for the beautiful location. We absolutely loved it here and wished we could stay longer.

Great clean facilities. Fully equipped kitchen. Cute outdoor area with pizza oven. Lovely owner. Beautiful surroundings and loved the walk to the canyon. Worth a detour to stay here. Interesting history. Late checkout was fine. 10/10
