Very basic campsite in an incredible spot in the middle of nowhere.
Lots of space to park on the grass, you won't be bothered by the neighbours. Come for the view, not the facilities!
Toilets and 2$ hot shower (or free cold shower) but it was rather dirty. Wifi spot next to the reception, no phone service though.
Please note that as of January 2024, the track to the east cape lighthouse is currently closed (there was a big slip). But you can still watch the sunrise from a nice spot on the road right before the hill!

Nice campsite, plenty of space for tents and vans.
Kitchen, hot showers and toilets, everything was clean. Awesome beach right next to the campsite, perfect location to hike Cooks cove track and see tolaga bay wharf. No wifi but good reception.
Not cheap, 46$ for 2 persons on an unpowered site. Don't bother booking the beach front spots, can't see the beach from there!

Nice spot right next to the beach, close to Gisborne.
One musical toilet and one outside cold shower (just to rinse sand, no soap allowed). About 10 parking spots for self-contained vehicles only (the spots are not super large though, bigger campervans might have trouble parking there).
A few weird people and stoners around but didn't feel too unsafe.

Nice parking area with cool view of the bay, lots of spots, 2 toilets, one outside cold shower, everything was rather clean.
Some noise from the road at night but still could sleep well. 20 minutes walking from the city centre, perfect location!
