Great night for a first night out of Auckland.
Within an hour and a bit from the airport and an easy drive. Hosts nice facilities excellent. Potentially quiet time could be an idea here as so many kids (which is fine it’s a holiday park in school holidays) but they kept the party going late! As per usual in NZ-2 for 10am check out then +1 again because the guy at the desk let us stay a bit later. Come on guys global standard now is 12 noon in hotels much less a strip of grass! Would happily stay again!

Beach sites 23,24,25 amazing.
Check out 11am instead of the ridiculous 10am in NZ. Only saw the site manager on check in but he was very nice. Facilities good. The view amazing. Can recommend it enough.

Booked a lakeside plot for an afternoon/night stay hoping to get some views on the drive down to Wellington.
Got powered site 4 which was next to a shipping container up against the motorway crash barrier and too far from the power source (one pylon between 4 sites) and right at the end of the park. Seemed to be the only bit of the lake portion of the camp where the sites go 4 deep. Overall the lake area of the camp was not that pleasant IMO. I knew about the noise but the sheer proximity of site 4 was a bit worrying definitely the closest one I saw. The lady at the desk (which you cross SH1 to visit!) was lovely tried to find a longer cable but due to overhanging trees restricting the site wouldn’t even reach and she kindly moved us to a hill site on the other side of the road that was very nice but a bit tricky to get a 7.7m 6 berth into as the road is quite narrow. The noise on the hillside sites was fine although in the guest section we were in a lot of people used as a thoroughfare. Facilities very nice great selection of DVD to borrow. Only issue was ratio of washers to dryers at our laundry so a big line of wet clothes bags with 4 bucks on them. Again can’t fault the staff they were lovely but if you get site 4 just politely ask to move it looked like a last minute add on to the plan anyway and they didn’t look surprised when I asked!
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that your experience at our campground did not meet your expectations initially, but we're glad that our staff was able to assist you in finding a more suitable site.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the proximity of your initial site to the motorway and the challenges in accessing the power source. Your comments about Site 4 and the lake area have been duly noted, and we will take them into consideration as we strive to improve our facilities and site planning.
We're pleased to hear that the staff at the desk were accommodating and assisted you in finding a better site. Your feedback regarding the facilities and DVD selection is appreciated, and we'll also address the issue with the washers and dryers to ensure a smoother experience for our guests in the future.
Thank you for your understanding and patience, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more enjoyable stay in the future.
