Everything about this trip was spectacular -easily one of the highlights of our New Zealand visit.
Skip Milford Sound, skip the bus trips and day cruises, and sail with Chris instead. Doubtful Sound is much less traficked;it's like sailing through Jurassic Park - incredible beauty, and you're right in the middle of it. Chilled crayfish for lunch, venison and the freshest seafood you'll ever have for dinner. An exceptional experience!

My wife and I had a great experience with Gary of Kaikoura Kayaks on cool Sunday morning in February.
We were the only pair on his tour, so it was more like paddling with a local friend than being on a "guided tour". Shortly after we left the shore, we were surrounded by dolphins, and the video and still photos we shot are the ones that people back home remark about the most. Our timing was a little off on the seals - they were mostly just lounging around on the rocks after a long night's feeding - but overall it was one of the best experiences of a trip that was full of great experiences. Special thanks to Gary- we really enjoyed his insight and conversation.
