You must stop off here on a south island trip, it is an awesome place just 35 minutes drive from greymouth.
WE also diod the Truman track walk, wait till low tide then you can walk up the coast a bit at the end of the track where there are some caves. But dont get caught by the tide on your way back!

Nice Hostel on the hill close to town and good views.
This was great little town to stop off at. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do. The hostel staff were very helpful. WE enjoyed the walks and the cycle trail

Good value for money, had a good nights sleep and the staff were friendly and help ful
