Nothing but good about Sunrise Holidays!
Sarah and Cy are amazingly friendly and helpful. Our talks with Cy prior to our trip helped us a lot in planning the whole trip, and during our travelling he was available for itinerary questions and he responded pretty quick. We couldn’t have wish for a better and personal organisation of our roadtrip! Highly recommend them!
Kia ora Anne,
Thanks so much for your kind words. We are so pleased that you had such a wonderful adventure. It must have been the trip of a lifetime and something your family will no doubt fondly remember forever. We are so grateful that we could help to make everything run smoothly for you.
Nga mihi,
Sarah

Beautiful campground!
Great view on all three volcanoes. Clean facilities, although a bit outdated. Lots of grass for the kids to run around, amazing night sky.

Travelling with a motorhome and 2 kids.
Clean facilities, indoor swimmingpool (heated but still a bit cold though), playground (bit outdated) but most of all very wet, muddy and not leveled sites. Good wifi.

Ok campground.
Clean facilities but motorhome sites were very uneven. We stayed at Discovery Lodge campground first and liked that one MUCH better! Would advise you to go to that place instead of this one.

Beautiful walk!!!
First part easy and even boardwalk path, goes up a bit though. There was still some snow and ice on the path which made it even more beautiful. Trees and forest are amazing, almost magical! Second part of the loop was a bit of a challenge (very wet due to melted snow) and we had to cross a sort of small river that flooded the path. If the weather is good you’ll have great views on Taranaki.

Wonderfull holiday park!
Beautiful surroundings, feeding the eels and seeing the glow worms at night we’re great for the kids. Great playground, clean facilities, nice little nature trail on the campground itself.

Travelling with a motorhome and two kids.
Campsite was ok, in the middle of a residential area. Great showers (strong, hot, unlimited), huge lounge, a small playground (a bit dated), private motorhome sites (with bushes and trees between them). Swimmingpool and sauna were closed. Unfortunately missed the view on the volcano due to bad weather.

Very small campground, small places, on a pretty busy street, not very suitable for children.
Didn’t stay and went to another one.

An OK campsite.
Good service, big sites for the motorhome, but facilities weren’t really clean and at night a lot of heavy traffic passed by (the campsite is right next to SH1), which made it difficult for us to sleep.

Ok information.
Contrary to the information of the Lonely Planet, the Volcanic Activity Center doesn’t exist anymore.

Very clean and beautiful campsite.
Very nice when traveling with children. Good and clean facilities, walking tracks from the campsite.

Actual bridge collapsed so we couldn’t walk the loop, but the short walk into the “cave” was beautiful, as well as the road from Waitomo Caves towards it.
Well worth the drive!

Beautiful cave!
Glowworms were magical, never saw so many in my life! Actual boat tour is short, but when you’ve read the information about the tour first, you’ll know what to expect.

Good facilities (could be better though), nice playground, close to Waitomo Caves.
Motorhome sites are quite small and “out in the open”.

Very pretty, nice and easy walkway (mostly boardwalk).
Beautiful forest!
