Very cool place to stay.
Park in the carpark and then take the free shuttle up the mountain to the ski field the next day. Reasonable cost and friendly staff.

Nice easy place to stop for the night.
A few other vans. Friendly people. The ground was pretty soft in the middle. Could easily get stuck . Stick to the gravel areas if possible.

An ok spot with town still walkable.
Sort of behind a workshop area, which made it a bit tricky to find. It is not in the forest park. Keep going past the forest park entrance and then turn left.

Stunning views.
Really just a big gravel parking area. Some of it not flat. Worth it for the view.

Great town with friendly vibes.
Good place to stay right in town and next to the river. River was quite high because of all the rain.

Good, free spot near Tekapo and Roundhill ski field.
Quite a few vans staying. Lots of space. Roundhill was once again amazing.

Great place for a free overnight stop.
Nice views of the lake and several flat spots to park. Road is close but the noise didn't seem to bad. Several other vans around but plenty of room for everyone.

We wanted a stop reasonably close to Cardrona.
This was fine. 10 dollars per person. Good hot showers and a recycling area. A lot of permanent people in vans. They were mostly on the other side of the cricket oval. People were friendly.

Good place for one night.
Forty dollars for two, unpowered site in a camper. We only used the hot showers. Good rubbish and recycling area. A group of loud people drinking around the outdoor fire at night right next to our van. I asked them to stop talking loudly at about 10.15 and they were fine with that. Camp rule is no noise after 10pm. Next time we would get a site away from the outdoor fire.

We arrived in the dark having driven all day.
Can't say what it was like really. You drive down from the main road. We found the first flat area and parked up for the night. We are fully self contained so it was perfect for us. A couple of other vans arrived in the night and then we left early to get to Milford Sound.

DOC camp in a top class location.
Fifteen dollars per person. We ended up camping in our van in the day park. We realised the next day the camping area was a bit further over. It didn't seem to matter. Maybe just read the signs more closely than we did. Hooker track is epic. And so is the Tasman Glacier. Do both. Incredible NZ locations on two sunny winter days.

We arrived in the dark having driven further than we expected due to the flooding of roads south of Chch.
Flat carpark area. Toilets were fine. We left early the next day. Good place for an overnight stop.

Large rest area, by the lake.
We just needed an overnight stop on our way North. Good flushing toilets with toilet paper. Good rubbish area too. Recycling was for glass only. Road a bit noisy but still ok. Nice work Bendigo.
