Loved the clean modern showers here with a wand and handy shelves for your soap & shampoo.
The shower cubicle has many hooks to hang your clothes & is well designed so the bench stays dry. This is how they all should be. The only minus are the motion activated lights in the kitchen and bathroom will turn off unexpectedly. All facilities are immaculate and the reception was warm and helpful. The WiFi is one of fastest I’ve experienced.

I wasn’t as taken with this campground as other reviewers, mostly because they charged me as a solo traveler for 2 people which hasn’t happened anywhere else in NZ in 3 months of camper vanning.
So for $40, it wasn’t good value for money especially given that the facilities are kind of odd. There are only 2 unisex showers & 2 unisex toilets created out of porta loo cabins so they’re on the cramped side. They’re new, clean, the water is hot, the pressure is ok. The 2 toilets lack soap & sanitary bins for female travelers. With the camp full, I would imagine there’d be a queue for the facilities. The outdoor dishwashing sink would probably also have a queue in peak season. A soap dispenser was there but empty. The pitches are slightly off level, but not too bad. There are bright lights above the power sockets which could be put in a timer so they don’t shine in your windows all night. The camp is right next to the highway, so expect some traffic noise at night.
HI, Thanks for your review.
Couple of things to mention. We charge per site. Basically as a single camper you still take a full site. If you were two adults and two children under 5 you still only pay the basic site charge. We cannot fund single campers, sorry.
The toilets are not Portaloos. They are purpose designed units at cost just under $40,000
Also, your review assumes we could not cope in summer. This is not true because we are only a small bespoke site.
The night lights are a health and safety requirement so that in the case of an evacuation, people can safely navigate to the assembly point.
Location. There are no campsites next to the road. Re the noise. It is true this is elevated in the case of an eastern wind as this carries the noise towards the site.
We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us, and have taken your comments on board.
We hope you have a wonderful time in New Zealand
All the very best from our family to yours

Voicemail says closed for the rest of 2023.
Not sure if that applies to overnights only or day visits as well

Probably the prettiest holiday park I’ve seen, tucked in the bend of a stream with native birds, eels, glow worms… Immaculate facilities, friendly, helpful staff, and great WiFi.

Just a wide paved area next to a busy road.
Not especially level for sleeping. 2 stall bathroom with no light at night. Bring your flashlight.

The sign at the entrance says it’s closed but that’s just because the cabins are currently rented to seasonal workers.
The large pitches are still available to campervans. The facilities have a rustic Indonesian theme but are thoroughly modern underneath, with hot showers with great pressure, credit card activated laundry machines (6 front load LG washers & 6 dryers, $4 each), Sky TV in both lounges, large kitchen, good WiFi, etc. Highly recommend!

Very busy at night right beside intersection of 2 state highways.
Very brightly lit. No level spaces. Exposed to the wind too. Probably safe but I didn’t stay.

Lovely peaceful location inside the predator proof fence with camping for $10 donation.
No drinking water but toilet & outdoor shower & WiFi. Nice easy track around the lake or harder bush walk on the ridge. Wonderful dawn chorus of native birds
